Rosh Hashanah 2026

The New Year, which opens the Ten Days of Awe in the autumn with the sound of the shofar; Karaites keep the day as Yom Teruah.

In 2026 it begins on Saturday 12 September in Masorti and Reform practice, and on Sunday 13 September in Karaite practice.

Like every day of the Jewish year, it begins at sunset the evening before. Karaite dates are projected, and may move a day once the new moon is sighted.
