Questions, answered.

What people ask about ActivePray before they download it. How to do something in the app is on the support page.

Is there a prayer app for Judaism, Christianity and Islam?

Yes. ActivePray is one iPhone app for daily prayer across Judaism, Christianity and Islam. You choose your branch, and the app keeps its prayer times, its calendar and its texts, with no branch set as the default.

Which branches does ActivePray support?

Eight branches of three faiths: Masorti, Reform and Karaite Judaism; Orthodox, Catholic and Protestant Christianity; and Sunni and Twelver Shia Islam. Each is kept on its own terms, with its own calendar, hours of prayer and texts.

Is there a Karaite prayer app?

Yes. Karaite Judaism is a branch of its own in ActivePray: prayer from the Torah, the appointed times, and a calendar whose months begin with the sighted new moon. Karaite dates are projected, and may move a day once the new moon is sighted.

Is there a prayer app for Shia Muslims?

Yes. Twelver Shia is one of ActivePray’s two Islamic branches, beside Sunni, with its own prayer times, worked out by its own way of reckoning, and its own calendar of holy days.

Is there a prayer app for Orthodox, Catholic and Protestant Christians?

Yes. ActivePray keeps Orthodox, Catholic and Protestant Christianity as three branches, each with its own calendar, its own hours of prayer and the Bible in its own canon. Orthodox follows the New Calendar or the Old.

Does ActivePray track me or share my location?

No. There is no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Prayer times and the direction of prayer are worked out on your iPhone, from your location and the position of the sun, and your location is never sent to us.

Is ActivePray free, and what does Active+ add?

ActivePray is free: prayer times, the calendar and reminders stay free, always. Active+, €2.99 a month in the eurozone (Apple sets the local price elsewhere), adds a private prayer journal, end-to-end encrypted in your iCloud, and the extras, and is what keeps a one-person app going.

Does ActivePray need an internet connection?

Not for what you need each day. Prayer times, Shabbat times and the moon are worked out on your iPhone, and need no connection once your location is set. Signing in the first time, and finding a city by name, need one.

Can ActivePray help me build a daily prayer habit?

Yes. The Active tab has a daily ring, a streak, five mercy days a month that hold your streak when a day is missed, and badges along the way. On Masorti and Karaite, Shabbat and Yom Tov do not cost the streak. If you turn it on, time with a prayer or a passage is saved to Apple Health as mindful minutes.

Is ActivePray on Android?

No. ActivePray is for iPhone only, and needs iOS 26.1 or later.

Who makes ActivePray?

Benjamin Weberink, under the name Kastle Five, in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. It is made by one person, and kept going by Active+.
