شعبان

Shaʿban 1450 AH

The month before Ramadan. Its fifteenth night, the night of mid-Shaʿban, is kept awake in prayer by many.

Begins on Sunday 17 December 2028 and runs 30 days, to Monday 15 January 2029.

Projected from the Umm al-Qura calendar, as ActivePray reckons it. A Hijri month truly begins when the new crescent is seen, so it can open a day either side of this. Like every day of the Hijri year, each day begins at sunset the evening before.

The White Days

Three days of recommended fasting each lunar month, the Ayyām al-Bīḍ, when the moon is full. In Shaʿban 1450: Friday 29 December 2028, Saturday 30 December 2028 and Sunday 31 December 2028.

In ActivePray, the Hijri date stands at the top of every day, with each prayer at its hour and the holy days and fasts of the year, in Sunni and in Twelver Shia practice.
