Rabiʿ al-Awwal 1451 AH

The month of the Prophet’s birth, kept as Mawlid an-Nabi by many: on the twelfth in Sunni reckoning, and the seventeenth in Twelver Shia.

Begins on Friday 13 July 2029 and runs 30 days, to Saturday 11 August 2029.

Projected from the Umm al-Qura calendar, as ActivePray reckons it. A Hijri month truly begins when the new crescent is seen, so it can open a day either side of this. Like every day of the Hijri year, each day begins at sunset the evening before.

Its holy days

As each branch keeps them, from ActivePray’s calendars.

  1. Tuesday 24 July 2029 · Sunni

    Mawlid an-Nabi

The birth of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (observed by many; the date and practice vary).

  2. Sunday 29 July 2029 · Shia

    Milad an-Nabi

The birth of the Prophet ﷺ in the Twelver reckoning — the seventeenth of Rabiʿ al-Awwal, where the Sunni calendar keeps the twelfth. Imam Jaʿfar al-Sadiq was born the same day. Kept with a recommended fast, and the celebration after it.

The White Days

Three days of recommended fasting each lunar month, the Ayyām al-Bīḍ, when the moon is full. In Rabiʿ al-Awwal 1451: Wednesday 25 July 2029, Thursday 26 July 2029 and Friday 27 July 2029.

In ActivePray, the Hijri date stands at the top of every day, with each prayer at its hour and the holy days and fasts of the year, in Sunni and in Twelver Shia practice.
