Numbers 19:1 – 25:9, with the haftarah Micah 5:6–6:8.
In 2027: Shabbat 17 July 2027. Israel reads it on another Shabbat that year, where a festival moves the cycle.
Two portions read together, as the year’s Shabbatot require: Chukat and Balak.
The first verses of the portion. Hebrew: the Miqra according to the Masorah, via Sefaria (CC BY-SA). English: JPS 1917.
And the LORD spoke unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying:
This is the statute of the law which the LORD hath commanded, saying: Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring thee a red heifer, faultless, wherein is no blemish, and upon which never came yoke.
The portions read the Shabbat before and the Shabbat after, in the Diaspora. Masorti and Reform read the whole portion each week, or a third of it over three years on the triennial cycle; the portion is the same.
Numbers 16:1 – 18:32
Numbers 25:10 – 30:1
In ActivePray, the week’s portion stands on the Prayer tab with its haftarah, in Hebrew beside the English, and the whole Tanakh to read on.
